Cindy Dutton

Director of Residential and Therapeutic Services

Cindy received her Bachelor’s of Science in Child Development from Western Illinois University.  She started her career in 1991 as a Case Manager with a foster care agency in Chicago, Illinois. Cindy moved to Colorado in 2000 and was hired as a Resource Coordinator for Developmental Pathways in 2005.  After transferring to a Program Manager position with Continuum of Colorado, Cindy found her niche.  Cindy currently oversees the residential sites and nursing team.  She strives to tailor residential options to best support individuals and their families.

Tom Knost

Director of Activities and Employment Services

Tom Knost received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of Cincinnati in 1997. After graduation, he worked in the mental health field with children and adolescents in Ohio, Arizona, and Colorado. Tom came to work for Continuum of Colorado in 2003 and has had the opportunity to support many of the different programs Continuum has to offer. He was promoted to director in 2013, and values the opportunity to be part of an agency that is committed to supporting individuals in the manner in which they would like to be supported.

Alexa Lanpher

Vice President of Continuum of Colorado

A native of Colorado, Alexa discovered at an early age her passion for helping others achieve their goals. This passion stuck with her through college, where she earned a BS in Psychology from Colorado State University. While at Continuum, Alexa has served on several state committees to update the rules and regulations governing service providers. While Alexa has held several positions within Continuum’s management team over the past 20 years, her focus has always remained on providing creative supports to assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to thrive in their community.

Matt VanAuken

President of Continuum of Colorado & Chief Operations Officer

Matt brings over 20 years of multi-unit and executive leadership and management experience to our organization. He has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and is now pursuing his Masters in Business Administration at Western Governor’s University. Matt currently serves as the chairperson for the El Paso County Human Services Advisory Committee, is a Governor appointed member of the Colorado State Board of Health, and board member for the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Matt is also an active participant in Alliance Association, and the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR). Previously, he worked as the Director for Children, Youth and Families for Jefferson County Human Services, Vice President of Operations for Hard Rock Café, and Vice President of Operations for Olive Garden. Matt lives in Colorado Springs with his wife and two beautiful children.

Melanie Worley

Chief Executive Officer

Melanie Worley, a commissioner for 10 years before coming to Continuum of Colorado, received the Distinguished Service Award from ADMHN in 2009 for her work in helping protect benefits for mentally ill individuals, was the Colorado Counties, Inc. Commissioner of the year in 2001, and won the Colorado Counties, Inc. Distinguished Service Award in 2008. In 2015, Melanie was appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper to the Respite Care Task Force. Among numerous other posts, Melanie serves on the board of directors for Parker Arts, Culture and Events (PACE) Center and Arapahoe/Douglas Mental Health Network. Melanie also served as past chairwoman of the Highlands Ranch Chamber. She has been chairwoman of the Denver Regional Council of Governments, initiated the formation of the Partnership of Douglas County Governments, and received a federal appointment to the Local Government Advisory Committee, providing local perspective to the Environmental Protection Agency.

Lloyd Sweet

Chief Financial Officer

Lloyd received his bachelor degree in accounting from Florida State University, is a registered CPA in Colorado, and has over 40 years of experience in accounting, consulting, financial analysis, fundraising, budgeting, and strategic planning. He has worked as a managing partner and consulting/tax partner for large accounting firms in Colorado. The last firm Lloyd served as a partner for was Eide Bailly. Lloyd also possesses a vast knowledge of the not-for-profit industry. Lloyd has served on the Board of Directors for Adam’s Camp, RAFT (Resource Area for Teaching), The Denver Teacher’s Awards, the Jefferson Symphony Orchestra, and the Community Housing Developmental Association. Lloyd has been the recipient of the Colorado Society of CPA’s 2006 Everyday Hero Award and Adam’s Camp Kevin Taylor Award for Service. He was also named one of Denver’s top ten CPAs for 3 straight years.
